GD’s Kadagishvili urges Iranian Ambassador to fulfil his diplomatic function, says his findings are irrelevant

“Let the Iranian Ambassador fulfil his diplomatic function within the scope of his mandate,” said Irakli Kadagishvili, Chairman of the parliamentary Self-Governance Committee.

According to Kadagishvili, the Ambassador’s findings posted about Queen Ketevan, the 17th-century Georgian queen martyred in Shiraz, Iran, are irrelevant.

“We do not single anyone out; we treat everyone objectively, and the response to each individual will be appropriate and commensurate with their actions. In this instance, too, the Iranian ambassador should carry out his duties within the scope of his mandate.

His findings in this instance are completely irrelevant. They fall outside the context of relations between the countries, and certainly outside the scope of the ambassador’s and the embassy’s work,” he said.

The Iranian Ambassador to Georgia, Seyed Ali Moujani, wrote on the Facebook page about projecting an image of the Georgian Saint Queen Ketevan onto the facade of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Tbilisi.
