GD's Kadagishvili: Opposition seeking to undermine visa-free travel to fuel revolutionary agenda

Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Self-Government, Irakli Kadagishvili, stated that the opposition aims to suspend Georgia’s visa-free regime with the European Union to manipulate public sentiment and create conditions for a revolution.

According to Kadagishvili, such attempts are doomed to fail, as neither a revolution nor an overthrow can occur in Georgia.

“This is a breath of fresh air. Every revolution requires not only those who want change but also objective conditions, which do not exist in Georgian society. Why does the opposition want to stop visa-free travel? They seek to alter the population’s mood, as they are not interested in people’s well-being. Their main goal is to manufacture a background for revolution,” Kadagishvili stated.

He emphasized that the opposition will neither be able to halt visa-free travel nor create revolutionary conditions.

“When they call for revolution and overthrow, and the state responds, they immediately start complaining that human rights are being violated. Citizens should think carefully before becoming victims of manipulation by these adventurers. A revolution and overthrow cannot take place in Georgia. We do not want young people to be deceived, as happened once before,” Kadagishvili added.
