“Speculations about suspending visa-free travel to the European Union are being circulated from abroad, but Georgia will not take measures harmful to its citizens,” Archil Gorduladze, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Legal Affairs, stated.

“We will not abandon the ‘Family Values’ law, because it concerns our future,” Gorduladze said.

He criticized the current EU leadership, claiming it is influenced by what he called the “Deep State.”

“We will not allow LGBT propaganda in kindergartens and schools. Likewise, we will not abandon the Transparency Law, as sovereignty is crucial for our country, just as it is for the American people. The “Deep State” is well aware of this, and they are now using it as a mechanism to blackmail and blame the Georgian Dream for issues related to visa-free travel.

The European Union is putting pressure on the Georgian people. Its current leadership is heavily influenced by the “Deep State” and is raising matters unrelated to visa liberalization, threatening Georgian society in the process,” he stated.

Gorduladze expressed hope that EU leaders will exercise “common sense” and avoid unfair treatment of the Georgian people. “If they do not want their own citizens to face similar injustices, their decision must change, and there should be no discussion of suspending visa-free travel,” he added.
