At an international conference currently under way in the city of Shusha, Azerbaijan, Varlam Liparteliani, leader of the youth organisation of Georgian Dream, took part in a panel discussion on the theme of “Post-Conflict Reconstruction: Contemporary Challenges in Urban Planning.”

“Georgia’s goal remains unchanged: the peaceful de-occupation of our territories and the creation of a safe, inclusive, and sustainable living environment for all citizens, including those who have lost their homes and native lands as a result of conflict. It is for this very reason that modern urban planning represents for Georgia not merely an instrument of spatial development, but one of the most significant tools of peacebuilding,” Liparteliani said in his address.

The leader of Georgian Dream’s youth organisation, along with board members Mariam Grigorishvili and Tekla Tikanashvili, is in Shusha at the invitation of the youth wing of Azerbaijan’s ruling party, New Azerbaijan, where they are participating in an international conference entitled “Regional Contribution to Global Security — Peacebuilding in the South Caucasus.”
