GD urges EU to address informal oligarchic influence and Deep State by 2030 to facilitate Georgia's accession

“We hope that by 2030, the European Union will effectively address the issues of informal oligarchic influence and the Deep State, thereby creating favourable conditions for Georgia’s accession to the EU,” the Georgian Dream party’s Political Council has said in a statement.

The statement emphasizes that dismantling the European presence of the Deep State is a crucial prerequisite for reassessing Georgia-EU relations.

The Georgian Dream party further argued that the imposition of financial sanctions and visa restrictions on elected politicians and government officials should be viewed as an anti-Georgian action that undermines trust within Georgian society toward Western institutions.

Additionally, the GD Political Council highlighted that the Global War Party has deep-rooted connections across various countries, asserting that all political leaders, bureaucrats, presidents, prime ministers, Members of the European Parliament, and other officials who make anti-Georgian statements are acting under the directives of the Global War Party.

The statement noted that the team of the U.S. President has made promising statements about countering the Deep State within official structures, which has created challenges for numerous countries and had a devastating impact on neighbouring Ukraine.

“Georgia has managed to avoid a scenario similar to Ukraine’s due to immense effort and unwavering resistance. However, the fight for peace continues and must reach a successful conclusion. As long as the conflict persists in Ukraine, the potential for a similar situation in Georgia will always loom.”

The GD argued that the Global War Party and the Deep State influenced the sanctions imposed by certain countries on Georgian politicians and high-ranking officials. The party called on the Georgian people to fight resolutely against any forces that threatened to lead Georgia toward Ukrainization. They believe that doing so would ultimately benefit many European nations that are caught up in the games of the Deep State and fail to safeguard their national interests.

In closing, the GD Political Council asserted that no sanctions can intimidate the Georgian people, as society is acutely aware that nothing compares to the devastation of their country.
