GD Tsilosani: Megobari Act should inherently carry positive intentions, yet it seems less so

“The Megobari Act should inherently carry positive intentions, yet it seems less so. Drawing conclusions and making decisions from a distance of several thousand kilometres may not be appropriate,” remarked Nino Tsilosani, the ruling Georgian Dream party member.

Tsilosani emphasized the importance of avoiding premature negative perceptions.

“I would advise our colleagues and representatives of partner states to delve deeper into Georgia’s current situation. It is concerning that some criticisms focus on our electoral systems, disregarding the fact that previous elections were recognized as fair and competitive. The upcoming elections are set to even higher standards. The competitiveness, fairness, and accuracy of these elections are ensured by new electoral reforms, including an electronic counting mechanism adopted as part of the 12 recommendations.

Therefore, I urge them to approach Georgia with friendliness and acknowledge the reforms endorsed by the European Union and various institutions,” Tsilosani concluded.
