The ruling Georgian Dream party plans to file a lawsuit with the Constitutional Court in the near future, based on the conclusions of the parliamentary investigation commission. The announcement was made by the Leader of the Parliamentary Majority, Irakli Kirtskhalia, following today’s majority session.

According to Kirtskhalia, work on the text of the lawsuit is nearing completion.

“Everyone remembers one of our key pre-election promises — the establishment of an investigation commission. This commission, which the Georgian public followed live, shed light on the racket, violence, and dictatorship that the United National Movement engaged in during its time in power — and continues to do so today under the guise of the so-called opposition,” Kirtskhalia said.

Kirtskhalia noted that the commission’s work resulted in “a very strong and serious conclusion.”

“We had promised the public that, based on this conclusion, a lawsuit would be prepared for submission to the Constitutional Court. Our citizens will also be able to follow the court proceedings live. The preparation of the text is almost finished, and the lawsuit will be filed in the near future,” he added.
