The Georgian Dream ruling party will vote for the draft law “On Transparency of Foreign Funding,” tabled by the People’s Power movement, aiming to ensure “full transparency of foreign funding of organizations so that Georgian citizens know who is behind the activities of this or that group.”
At the late evening press point, GD Spokesperson Mamuka Mdinaradze briefed media outlets that “if the Georgian President vetoes the said bill, the ruling party will think to override it.”
He also deemed President Salome Zourabichvili’s today’s statement “very sad.”
The Georgian President’s Administration earlier today echoed the said draft law on foreign agents, stressing it “cannot support such law and persecution of new agents.”
