GD surveys party rankings, Kutaisi mayoral candidates

The ruling Georgian Dream (GD) Kutaisi mayoral candidate Ioseb Khakhalashvili has a high chance to win in the first round of local elections convincingly, said GD MP Givi Mikanadze on Monday.

A recent survey, conducted by the party’s sociological group in Kutaisi, showed that Khakhalashvili racked up 50,3%, UNM’s Khatia Dekanoidze – 37,8% and remaining candidates – 11,9%, Mikanadze noted.

The rating of mayoral candidates looks as follows:

Georgian Dream – 44.7%, United National Movement (UNM) – 32.6%, Alliance of Patriots – 3.1%, For Georgia – 2.9%, Strategy Agmashenebeli – 2.6%, Girchi-More freedom – 2.5%, Lelo – 2.3%, European Georgia – 2.2%, Citizens – 1.5% Labor Party – 1.5%, Girchi – 0.4%, United Georgia – 0.4%, other parties – 3.3%.

With this upshot of the Kutaisi City Assembly (Sakrebulo) elections, Mikanadze believes only three political entities will cross the 3% threshold: Georgian Dream will take 16 seats; while UNM – 11, and Alliance of Patriots – 1.

A total of 987 Kutaisi residents participated in the survey.
