GD MP: President, opposition want political, legislative processes to be ruled from abroad
“We see that the President and opposition want the political processes in Georgia to be fully regulated and ruled from abroad,” said Irakli Kadagishvili, MP of the ruling Georgian Dream (GD) party.
According to Kadagishvili, the President and opposition desire that the court system and laws be elaborated based on foreign viewpoints and experience.
“Have you ever seen a significant law be a subject for discussion among diplomats or international bodies in any country worldwide? This means they have no trust in people and count on instructions. It is one narrative – to speak about the law that distances us from Europe and brings us closer to Russia. Critical opinion from the West will be the only way to keep and expand these rallies,” he said.
According to the Presidential Administration, President Salome Zourabichvili asked the European Council President Charles Michel and French President Emmanuel Macron to put the Georgian developments on the agenda for discussions at the European Parliament.
