“We condemn any kind of violence. Violence instigates violence, but society remembers well how the violence began, how a radical opposition politician sneaked to and assaulted the majority leader,” said Georgian Dream MP Davit Matikashvili.
According to the GD MP, violence should end, and the country should turn to a peaceful regime and prepare for the parliamentary elections.
“We have been observing grave attacks on part of the radical opposition for two months. Regrettably, but in general, attacks and violence instigate violence. We condemn all kinds of violence and law enforcers are doing their work.
We, society, well remember where the violence started, how a radical opposition politician sneaked up on the majority leader and physically assaulted him. Therefore, unfortunately, all this also gave birth to violence. This should end. The country should turn onto a peaceful regime and prepare for the parliamentary elections,” he said.
The opposition United National Movement (UNM) party said the party’s central office was attacked last night.
