GD Gen/Sec: Local election headquarters data indicates GD to secure solid majority in Parliament
In a briefing today, Kakha Kaladze, General Secretary of the ruling Georgian Dream party, announced that preliminary data from local election headquarters indicates the party will secure a solid majority in the Parliament.
Kaladze emphasized the importance of voter turnout, reporting an unprecedentedly high participation rate by 3:00 PM, which he believes diminishes the chances of the radical opposition.
Kaladze urged voters to mobilize and head to polling stations to ensure the party achieves a constitutional majority.
“Today, we face a critical decision: whether our country will revert to a dark past or preserve the peace and dignity essential for our development. As of 3:00 PM, we are witnessing an unprecedentedly high voter turnout, leaving little chance for the radical opposition’s success. Preliminary data from local election headquarters indicate that Georgian Dream will secure a solid majority in the Parliament of Georgia. However, we must mobilize our efforts to ensure a constitutional majority, making every vote crucial. I won’t elaborate on the importance of a constitutional majority; we’ve discussed this extensively throughout the campaign. I urge every voter who cares about our country’s future, the protection of traditional values, and the peaceful, dignified, and bright European future of Georgia to come out and support the Georgian Dream—the only political force dedicated to safeguarding our national interests at all costs,” he stated.
Kaladze also strassed that “certain media and opposition groups are attempting to create chaos during the elections”, warning that any violations of the law would be addressed with full legal consequences.
“Today, you have a unique opportunity to contribute to the strengthening and progress of our country,” Kaladze concluded.
