The ruling Georgian Dream (GD) party closes the door to NGOs. All partners, who create uncomfortable conditions is unacceptable for the GD, said Bacho Dolidze, a member of the United National Movement (UNM) party.
According to Bacho Dolidze, the EU is waiting for the fulfillment of the 12-point priorities and the NGOs’ involvement in the process should be high. The GD’s version, finally, will be fault-finding for the opposition, NGOs, the EU and US.
“We should draw conclusions now. If we believe or not that under the conditions of this government we can, at least, theoretically take one step towards the European Union, we are deceiving ourselves. This is simply unrealistic. We must do our best to put maximum political pressure on the Russian Dream, which wants to close the door to the European Union and open it to Russia,” Dolidze said.
The non-governmental organization International Society for Fair Elections and Democracy (ISFED) was not allowed to participate in the first meeting of the working for the revision of the Election Code on August 18.
