GD claims to win runoffs
Minutes after the poll locations closed across Georgia and exit polls published, the ruling Georgian Dream (GD) party claimed to win over the opposition in runoffs.
Relying on Imedi TV-commissioned Gorbi exit polls, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili said the Georgian Dream won in all the municipalities.
While thanking supporters and congratulating mayoral candidate Kakha Kaladze on victory, PM Garibashvili asserted that the runoffs were held in a calm environment. “Now, we should wait for the final results.”
