GD Chair urges 'radical opposition' to break off campaigning against Georgia

The ruling Georgian Dream Chair urges “the radical opposition” in the country to “halt campaigning against” Georgia, awaiting the European Union candidate status. Irakli Kobakhidze stresses “everyone knows full well that Georgia is ahead of Ukraine and Moldova in all parameters.”

Kobakhidze claims “the radical opposition” and its foreign lobbyists have been voicing “the abstract criticism” on Georgia since Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the beginning of a full-scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24.

GD Head notes that “they constantly argue the government does not hold the right stance. However, we have not heard a single argument behind the abstract criticism.”

Kobakhidze believes “those who disapprove of the Georgian government’s stance over Ukraine, in fact, dislike that Georgia is not involved in the war.”

“We call on the radical opposition to publicly name what Georgia should have done to support Ukraine. We are willing to listen to any reasoned remarks, but not abstract criticisms lacking facts and arguments,” Kobakhidze stated.
