GD Chair: Unacceptable when someone finances NGOs, and then they demand gov't resignation

The ruling Georgian Dream party Chair, Irakli Kobakhidze, on Wednesday, said “it is unacceptable when someone finances non-governmental organizations and then they demand the resignation of the government.”

In an interview with Rustavi 2, Kobakhidze noted that “everything must be determined legally,” and the Venice Commission must evaluate the draft law on “Transparency of Foreign Influence.”

He also clarified that the purpose of the draft legislation is to ensure the transparency of non-governmental organizations.
