GD Chair: Time lost on internal skirmish, no destabilization admitted
“We will not admit any destabilization. If anyone wants to express an opinion, let him/her express it within the framework of the law. Elections are drawing closer and let everyone fix their position,” said Irakli Garibashvili, Chairman of the ruling Georgian Dream (GD) party in Gori town of the Shida Kartli region.
According to Garibashvili, the situation is tense globally and Georgia loses time on an internal skirmish.
“People probably forgot that the global political security environment cannot be forecast. The order that used to exist, is violated and nobody knows when the new order will be established and in which configuration.
The war continues in Ukraine. You know that USD 250 billion has been allocated to Ukraine since the beginning of the war. Reportedly, Russia allocated USD 200 billion. The US is likely to allocate an additional USD 50 or 60 billion. The war keeps on and nobody knows when it will end.
The threat which we are speaking about, on the relocation of the war in our country is real and has not gone anywhere. I want to appeal to those irresponsible forces, which attempted to drag our country into the war, which of them would bear the responsibility for the current developments? The only political force, which managed to maintain peace and stability in the country is the Georgian Dream. If anyone is capable of preserving peace and stability is Bidzina Ivanishvili (GD founder and Honorable Chairman). We know well that there were wars during any ruler, civil war, the war with Russia, loss of territories, and death of hero soldiers, the issue is serious.
Look what is happening in the Near East, I mean the Israel-Palestine war, tension between Iran and Israel. Nuclear war rhetoric circulates among NATO member states and Russia. Nuclear weapons will be demonstrated and at that time we lose time on internal skirmish. We will not admit any destabilization. If anyone wants to express an opinion, let him/her express it within the framework of the law. Elections are drawing closer and let everyone fix their position,” he said.
