GD Chair supports dialogue with partners to resolve misunderstanding

“We should continue a dialogue with partners, our American and European friends. I support discharging misunderstanding, and differences,” said Irakli Garibashvili, GD Chairman speaking with reporters following the meeting with party activists from the Samtskhe-Javakheti region in Borjomi.

According to Irakli Garibashvili, Georgia faces many challenges and the situation is tense globally with the ongoing war in Ukraine and events in the Near East. The main aim is to preserve peace, stability and development.

He elaborated on the bill On the Transparency of Foreign Influence.

“As for the law, this is my personal opinion, not the opinion of the party, I, as a citizen, do not support when pursuing foreign interests is legalized. It represents a betrayal of our country’s interests. No matter which country’s agent, be it Russia, the US, Africa or Asia, the agent is an agent. The activity of the agent is punishable. This is treachery,” he said, adding the only interest is pursuing Georgia’s interest.
