GD Chair: Supplying arms to Ukraine implies drawing Georgia into war
“Supplying Ukraine with any weapons means direct involvement in the military conflict, which we cannot allow,” said Irakli Kobakhidze, the Chairman of the ruling Georgian Dream party.
Kobakhidze responded to the statement of the Ukrainian Deputy Foreign Minister, expressing a hope that Georgia would join the partners that provide weapons and military equipment to Ukraine, as well as the EU sanctions against Russia.
“The calls over the second front continue unabated. It is quite unfortunate that Ukrainian government members make such calls almost openly. The Ukrainian people are friendly, but the Ukrainian government does not conduct in the spirit of a partner government of a friendly state,” Irakli Kobakhidze remarked.
In reference to the sanctions, Kobakhidze stated, “we showed a lot of facts that Georgia dodging sanctions is a lie.”
