GD Chair says President acts in line with external instructions

Chair of the ruling Georgian Dream (GD) party, Irakli Kobakhidze said President Salome Zourabichvili acts in line with external instructions instead of what required by her voters describing her move “a regrettable event.”

Irakli Kobakhidze remarked on President’s pardoning Nika Gvaramia, Founder of Mtavari Arkhi (Main Channel). He said with Gvaramia’s pardoning, President confirmed Gvaramia’s calling her “a resident.”

MEP Viola von Cramon said she had the information that President Zourabichvili planned to pardon Nika Gvaramia when she delivered a speech in Brussels, but “kept this information secret.”

The GD Chair said President even refrained from giving explanations to the Georgian society. “In fact, one agent pardoned another that confirms that there are forces, which seek polarization deepening in Georgia. This is a regrettable fact,” he said.

Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili pardoned Mtavari TV founder Nika Gvaramia on June 22.
