“At one time, the United National Movement sold strategic economic projects to Russian companies, and maybe Arakhamia means this, but we are not considering the possibility of imposing sanctions against Russia. Of course, the freezing of assets is one of the forms,” Irakli Kobakhidze, Chairman of the Georgian Dream party, stated.
The GD Chair echoed the remark of David Arakhamia, the chair of the ruling Servant of the People party’s faction of the Ukrainian Rada, in the social networks, saying that “Russian assets are frozen in the whole world and will be used for restoring Ukraine. It would be great if the Georgian government demonstrated similar solidarity.”
The GD Chair underscored that the ruling team’s top priority is the protection of national interests.
“Arakhamia’s appeal is aimed at opening a second front in Georgia, and we are not surprised. They want a second front in Georgia but will not get it,” he said, adding the government would not never engage in “polemics” of Ukraine’s high-ranking officials.
