GD Chair: President Zourabichvili no longer felt worthy, impeachment aims for her resignation

During the Constitutional Court proceedings, Irakli Kobakhidze, the Chair of the ruling Georgian Dream party, asserted that the systemic violation of the Constitution drove the decision to initiate impeachment against President Zourabichvili.

Kobakhidze clarified that the primary objective of the ruling party is to compel the President to step down, stating, “Our team no longer considers Zourabichvili worthy of the presidency.”

“While we may not anticipate securing unanimous support for impeachment, if the Constitutional Court determines a violation of the Constitution, we expect relevant MPs to endorse the impeachment process. This is our political intention,” said Kobakhidze.
