GD Chair: President engages in radical opposition's anti-candidate campaign

“President Salome Zourabichvili joined the radical opposition’s anti-candidate campaign, which is regrettable,” said Irakli Kobakhidze, Chair of the ruling Georgian Dream (GD) party.

According to Kobakhidze, in her annual report delivered in the parliament, President clearly stated Georgia deserved candidate status neither last year nor now.

The GD Chair also called the radical opposition responsible for the March developments in Tbilisi, calling for further probe into the case.

“The radical opposition comprises two Bolshevik Troikas. One is the Merabishvili-Kezerashvili-Khabeishvili Troika, in the form of the United National Movement, and the second is the National-Bolshevik Troika, which is the unity of Vashadze-Khostaria-Japaridze. There is no difference between them; everyone is equally responsible for the radicalism observed in Georgia for years,” Kobakhidze said.
