GD Chair on yesterday's arrest: Detainee acted to prevent "Bolshevik Troika's" funding disclosure
“No one should be left unpunished for the severe attacks on law enforcement,” Irakli Kobakhidze, the chair of the ruling Georgian Dream party, stated on Thursday.
“The law must be enforced. People must be held accountable when a crime is committed,” Irakli Kobakhidze said in response to a query concerning a person arrested yesterday in connection with the March protests.
“Throwing Molotov cocktails and stones is a specific blatant crime, and those responsible must be held accountable,” he continued.
The arrested person, he claims, is associated with opposition leaders Giorgi Vashadze, Elene Khoshtaria, and Zurab Girchi Japaridze.
“He has ties to the Bolshevik “Troika,” i.e. Vashadze-Japaridze-Khostaria, the unity of agents. This shows that this person was motivated by a subjective goal. In particular, to prevent the disclosure of their funding,” he stated.
