GD Chair: Georgia's European path is not subject to any revision

The Georgian Constitution stipulates the country’s European course. We [Georgian Dream] included this clause. This path is not subject to any revision, stated Irakli Kobakhidze, Chairman of the ruling Georgian Dream (GD) party, in an interview with the GPB First Channel program Kviris Moambe (Sunday Moambe).

He claims that since 85% of Georgians support European integration, there is no doubt about it.

“We have already taken many steps to implement the 12 recommendations and the Association Agreement; we only have two bills left to pass and will do so very soon. Venice Commission’s conclusion has already arrived,” Kobakhidze said.

He continued: “Giving us the status of a candidate is the only option; the rest is a matter of political decision”.
