Gakharia Party’s Khvedeliani: GD enables Saakashvili to campaign from prison
“While prisoner Mikheil Saakashvili is campaigning for the election, he is effectively running his own party from prison and addressing the whole of Georgia live on air – thanks to the Georgian Dream,” said Tata Khvedeliani, a member of the Gakharia for Georgia party.
According to Khvedeliani, the Georgian Dream is currently supporting the United National Movement by providing opportunities for criminals and placing prisoners in unequal conditions.
“At a time when we are calling for the release of prisoners of conscience, whom we would like to see free, and when Giorgi Gakharia, the country’s former Prime Minister, is under criminal prosecution on fabricated charges and is not being given the opportunity to engage in full-fledged political activity, we see prisoner Mikheil Saakashvili campaigning live on air and speaking to members of his own party.
Mikheil Saakashvili is a criminal, and there is no question of his right to set any rules. If he is setting the rules, it is thanks to the Georgian Dream, because the Georgian Dream benefits from this and stands on the United National Movement,” Tata Khvedeliani said.
