“The invitation of the OSCE/ODIHR by Georgian Dream is the achievement of our political team. They were forced to invite them, and now our team will be actively involved in this process — how the OSCE/ODIHR will be integrated into the elections, how they will arrive, whether the mission will be complete, and whether they will be able to fully participate in this limited timeframe,” Tata Khvedeliani, a member of the Gakharia for Georgia party, stated.

She emphasized the importance of the OSCE/ODIHR in ensuring transparent elections.

“Their participation is crucial. Georgian Dream had no other choice but to invite them, given that our team and the opposition are actively participating in these elections. However, they deliberately invited them so late,” Khvedeliani noted.

According to her, OSCE/ODIHR reports have consistently been “acute and highly relevant” to Georgia’s political reality.

“If the OSCE/ODIHR participates, their conclusions will be very important, especially as we are facing an authoritarian regime,” she added.

The Georgian government has officially sent a letter to the OSCE/ODIHR, inviting it to send an observation mission for the October 4 local elections.
