Freedom Square's leader says his political movement to progress as independent party

Levan Tsutskiridze, leader of the Freedom Square political movement, asserts that his entity is evolving into an independent political party.

In an interview with the Georgian Public Broadcaster (GPB) First Channel, Tsutskiridze explained that the Strong Georgia coalition was formed by four parties for the elections, while members aimed to establish Freedom Square as a strong and independent political party from the outset.

“For last year’s elections, we formed an electoral coalition that included four independent entities, one of which was Freedom Square. From the beginning, and even now, the goal of all Freedom Square members has been to establish it as a powerful, independent political force. We are in touch with all political parties, including those we collaborated with in the Strong Georgia coalition. Freedom Square is developing as a party that will represent the interests of many people in this country,” Tsutskiridze stated.

When asked whether this indicates the dissolution of the Strong Georgia coalition, Tsutskiridze emphasized that any discussions regarding elections and coalitions would involve consultations with partners.

“If there are talks about elections and coalitions, we will certainly consult with our partners. Until then, Freedom Square is moving forward as an independent political party,” he clarified.

The Strong Georgia coalition was formed before the elections by four political parties: Lelo, Freedom Square, Ana Dolidze – for the People, and Aleko Elisashvili’s Citizens.
