Free People’s Party leader Rakviashvili: Georgia is a long way from Serbia, and Lula’s win in Brazil matters far more

“We still have a long way to go before we get to where Serbia is,” Aleksandre Rakviashvili, one of the leaders of the Free People’s Party (formerly Girchi), wrote on social media.

He said the “communist” Lula’s victory in Brazil is far more significant.

“People have got so excited about Serbia, you’d think our universities were as politically active as theirs and were about to end up at the vanguard of protest. Forget protests: our universities are afraid even to hold political debates, and during the protests they declared holidays. So we still have a long way to go before we get to where Serbia is. Communist Lula’s victory in Brazil is far more significant. This is a very bad result for the free world, because Lula’s Brazil is one of the main spreaders of communist ideas. And our enemy, first and foremost, is precisely communism and other socialist poison that poisons people’s minds. There was a chance the world would have one fewer immoral regime, but sadly it didn’t happen,” Rakviashvili wrote.
