Forty-six MPs demand access to ex-President Saakashvili

Forty-six opposition legislators appealed to Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili, requesting access to imprisoned ex-President Mikheil Saakashvili.

The opposition MPs also challenged the Speaker in the letter to explain why he abuses his office by denying access to the ex-president.

“The video published yesterday, in fact, answered the question; it is because President Saakashvili’s physical condition is really critical, and they want to hide the truth, to hold the country’s third president in isolation,” MP Tina Bokuchava stated.

On July 3, Mikheil Saakashvili, Georgia’s imprisoned ex-President, appeared in court via video link from the Vivamedi Clinic and exposed his body to demonstrate his health state.
