Former Parliament building in Kutaisi to be transformed into IT hub

The former Parliament building in western Georgian city of Kutaisi will be transformed into a new information technology hub, Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili announced at today’s Cabinet meeting.

The PM said that “non-functional venue will be used to promote development of the IT sector, and the Government is working with an Israeli company in this regard.”

“The hub will attract and hire young people working in the IT industry. Our Georgian students, young people will be supported in their development. Tens of millions of dollars will be invested in the project. Of course, Kutaisi University can be a very important partner in this project,” Garibashvili added.
