The Georgian General Prosecutor’s Office has apprehended Sergo Shubitidze, the former investigator involved in Tamar Bachaliashvili’s [23-year-old Georgian programmer] case. The Prosecutor’s Office has stated that the detainee will face charges under the first part of Article 370 of the Criminal Code of Georgia. This pertains to impeding justice through false testimony as a witness.
The Office has further clarified that it will follow the necessary legal procedures and submit an application to the Tbilisi City Court to secure imprisonment as a preventive measure.
