Former co-chair of Free Georgia arrested for woman assault

Patrol police detained former co-chair of the Free Georgia party Gogi Tsulaia in the Georgian capital Tbilisi on violence charges.

According to the Interior Ministry (MIA), Tsulaia had physically abused a woman A.D. (DoB 1979) in a rented apartment in Tbilisi.

The investigation is underway under the first part of Article 126 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which stipulates violence, MIA added.

Earlier in March, Gogi Tsulaia left the political party Free Georgia. Tsulaia did not rule out forming a new party.
