Foreign Relations Committee Chair meets representative of UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office
Chair of the parliamentary Foreign Relations Committee Nikoloz Samkharadze met Mark Clayton, Deputy Director and Head of the Central Asia and Eastern Neighbourhood Department at the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO).
According to the press service of the Georgian parliament, the parties reviewed bilateral relations and cooperation deepening prospects between Georgia and the UK.
Nikoloz Samkharadze focused on the occupation-related situation and challenges and the significance of international support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The meeting reviewed regional security and the impact of the war in Ukraine on European security, the South Caucasus and regional processes.
British Ambassador to Georgia Gareth Ward attended the meeting.
