Foreign Relations Committee Chair: Latest public poll demonstrates GD’s strong support among society

“The results of the latest public poll demonstrate that the government enjoys strong support within Georgian society; I believe that support for Georgian Dream has increased even further since the elections,” Nikoloz Samkharadze, Chairman of the parliamentary Foreign Relations Committee, told the GPB First Channel.

According to Samkharadze, the rating of the opposition is disastrous.

“This was expected. When you do your best to destroy state institutions, do not recognize the outcomes of the elections, organize violence in the streets and urge foreign countries to sanction your own country, the rating is equivalent, and this is good,” he said.

Social network users released the slide which reflects the results of the IRI public polls. According to the results, in party ratings, Georgian Dream leads with 36 percent and the National Movement has 5 percent, while Iago Khvichia’s Girchi Party, the Labour Party, Giorgi Gakharia’s For Georgia party and the party Akhali each have 2 percent. Ana Dolidze’s party For People, Zurab Japaridze’s Girchi for Freedom, Strategy Aghmashenebeli and People’s Party have 1 percent each. Lelo and The Federalists are not included in the ratings.
