Foreign Ministry – NATO-Georgia Commission gives high evaluation to reforms carried out in Georgia
A sitting of NATO-Georgia Commission, headed by Davit Zalkaliani, Georgian Foreign Minister and Mircea Geoana, Deputy Secretary General of NATO, was held in Brussels, Belgium.
Georgian Foreign Ministry reported that the Commission gave high evaluation to the reforms carried out by Georgia in process of Euro-Atlantic integration, Georgia’s engagement in global security processes, strengthening of democracy, election system’s reform and effective measures in struggle against COVID-19 pandemic.
NATO allies reiterated Georgia’s support on its path of NATO integration and expressed expectation that Georgia would hold democratic and high-standard parliamentary elections in autumn.
It was underlined during the sitting that the alliance welcomes Georgia’s involvement and dialog about regional security issues and Georgia’s contribution to peacekeeping mission in Afghanistan.
