Foreign citizens confirm green status with Covid Certificates issued in their countries

Foreign citizens will have to present digitalized Covid Certificates issued in their countries to confirm their “green status”, Prime Minister signed the corresponding order.

The assigned QR codes will be verified in CovidPass and EU Digital COVID Certificate systems of the online application www.covidpass.moh.gov.ge.

Giorgi Ghibradze, Head of the Task Force at the Interagency Coordination Council, said that the decision would allow citizens of foreign countries holding green status to enter Georgia’s territory and the bulk of institutions in the country.

At the Eastern Partnership Ministerial meeting in Brussels, the European Union (EU) approved the Georgia-issued Covid Certificates in November.

Effective from December 1, Georgian citizens aged above 18 will have to submit their Covid Certificates, the so-called “green passports,” to gain entry to a bulk of venues across Georgia. Green Passport admission is required for eateries, restaurants, cafes, and bars (both outdoor and indoor), cinemas, theatres, opera houses, museums, concert halls, entertainment centres, casinos and gambling sites, spa centres, fitness clubs, hotels, and ski lifts at winter resorts.
