Forecasters predict rain, thunderstorms and hail across most of Georgia on July 14–15
Georgia’s National Environmental Agency has issued a weather warning for July 14–15, forecasting heavy rainfall and thunderstorms across several regions of the country.
According to the agency, intermittent rain, locally heavy, is expected from the evening of July 14 through the first half of July 15 in Samegrelo–Zemo Svaneti, Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti, Samtskhe-Javakheti, Shida Kartli, and Mtskheta-Mtianeti.
The forecast also includes the possibility of thunderstorms, hail, and strong winds.
The agency warned that heavy rainfall could cause rivers to rise, trigger flash floods on smaller waterways, and increase the risk of landslips and mudflows in hilly and mountainous areas. The overall hazard level has been classified as moderate.
