The National Environmental Agency (NEA) has issued a weather warning to the public regarding adverse conditions expected across Georgia.

According to meteorologists, intermittent rain, thunderstorms, and hail are expected across most of Georgia from the evening of July 23 through to the morning of July 24. Heavy rainfall is anticipated in parts of Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti, Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti, Imereti, Samtskhe-Javakheti, Shida Kartli, Kvemo Kartli, Mtskheta-Mtianeti, and Kakheti, accompanied by squally winds.

“The expected heavy rainfall may trigger rising water levels on rivers and flash flooding on smaller waterways, alongside the initiation or escalation of landslide and mudslide processes in hilly and mountainous regions (Medium Risk Level),” the National Environmental Agency statement read.
