Forecasters predict brief rain and thunderstorms across Georgia amid high temperatures, with hail possible in places
The National Environment Agency (NEA) has issued its weather forecast for Georgia covering June 9–11.
According to the Agency, over the coming days, against a backdrop of high temperatures, brief spells of rain and thunderstorms are expected across Georgia, with hail possible in isolated areas.
In Tbilisi, brief rain accompanied by thunder is expected during the evening and overnight hours. Daytime temperatures will reach +27 to +29°C.
In the coastal regions (Batumi, Kobuleti, Anaklia, Poti), warm and largely dry conditions are expected on June 9–10, with rain arriving on June 11. Daytime temperatures will reach +25 to +27°C.
In the lowland regions of western Georgia (Zestaponi, Kutaisi, Samtredia, Zugdidi, Martvili, Ozurgeti), isolated brief showers and thunderstorms are expected on June 9–10 amid warm conditions, with most areas seeing brief rain and thunder on June 11. Daytime temperatures will reach +28 to +30°C.
In the mountainous regions of western Georgia (Ambrolauri, Oni, Tsageri, Shovi, Chiatura, Sachkhere, Khulo, the Rikoti Pass), brief rain and thunderstorms are expected in places amid warm conditions. Daytime temperatures will reach +26 to +28°C.
In the high-altitude regions of western Georgia (Mestia, Bakhmaaro), brief rain and thunderstorms are expected in places. Daytime temperatures will reach +21 to +23°C.
In Kartli (Rustavi, Bolnisi, Marneuli, Gardabani, Gori, Tskhinvali), brief rain and thunderstorms are expected in places. Daytime temperatures will reach +28 to +30°C.
In Kakheti (Sagarejo, Telavi, Gurjaani, Sighnaghi, Lagodekhi, Kvareli, Akhmeta, Dedoplistskaro), brief rain and thunderstorms are expected in places. Daytime temperatures will reach +27 to +29°C.
In the mountainous regions of eastern Georgia (Akhaltsikhe, Borjomi, Dusheti, Tianeti, Pasanauri), brief rain and thunderstorms are expected in places, with hail also possible. Daytime temperatures will reach +25 to +27°C.
In the high-altitude regions of eastern Georgia (Akhalkalaki, Tsalka, Bakuriani, Gudauri, Omalo), brief rain is expected in places. Daytime temperatures will reach +17 to +19°C.
