For Georgia's Parulava: Mdinaradze’s U.S. visit indicates unresolved issues within deputy FM meeting
Member of the Gakharia for Georgia party, MP Giga Parulava, has stated that Mamuka Mdinaradze, the head of the State Security Service of Georgia (SSSG), is currently in the United States.
Parulava suggested that perhaps certain issues could not be resolved during Georgia’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Lasha Darsalia’s, visit to the United States, and that sending Mdinaradze was therefore necessary.
“We have consistently called on the government to clarify relations with our strategic partners. We would be pleased if the Georgian state maintained respectful relations with its strategic allies, which, unfortunately, is not the case under the Georgian Dream administration. This may be a continuation of the fact that Mamuka Mdinaradze has been dispatched to America. Perhaps it’s also an extension of this meeting. It appears that some issues could not be settled during Darsalia’s visit, and now they are attempting to resolve them through Mdinaradze’s trip. We’ll see and wait. Maintaining good relations with strategic partners is welcome, but the government lacks the resources to sustain normal and stable relations,” Parulava remarked.
For reference, the Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued statements about the meeting held at the State Department with Deputy Minister Lasha Darsalia.
Additionally, the American side has also released information regarding the meeting at the State Department.
