For Georgia’s Parulava emphasises that Patriarch’s election is sacred matter for Holy Synod; urges parties to respect this process

“The election of the Patriarch is a matter solely for the Holy Synod. Naturally, we will respect and accept any decision they reach,” stated Giga Parulava, a member of the Gakharia for Georgia party.

Parulava emphasised that any interference in this delicate issue is entirely unacceptable and falls outside all appropriate frameworks.

“All parties, the opposition and the government alike, must refrain from meddling in this affair. Why is there a lack of restraint? We should be asking those individuals who cannot hold back from interfering. Everyone must respect the sanctity of this process and avoid politicising or meddling in it,” he added.
