For Georgia's Khvedeliani: Georgia is under regime, what is happening in country is GD's responsibility

“The ‘Dream’ [Georgian Dream] regime is operating in the country and is doing everything — even normalizing human rights violations — to prolong its hold on power,” said Tata Khvedeliani, an MP from the Gakharia for Georgia party.

According to her, this is reflected in numerous discussions, conclusions, and reports about the country in various international formats.

“Everything must be taken into account. Georgia is under a regime, and what is happening in the country is the responsibility of ‘Dream.’ In democratic European states, there are no cases of chemical substances being used in water cannons or such gross human rights violations and violence as we are seeing in our country. All of this is important when evaluating the broader context. ‘Dream’ cannot escape the fact that it is a violent regime that uses force to prolong its rule.

No country should interfere in Georgia’s internal affairs or violate its sovereignty, but I am speaking about what this government is doing. ‘Dream’ promised to prosecute the ‘National Movement,’ yet you see their high-ranking officials in prison. Along with the ‘Natsis’ [United National Movement members] those who fought against them, together with ‘Dream’ are also imprisoned. The government promised to renew the Technical University and then canceled it. These are the kinds of lies we are dealing with — they are deceiving their own voters,” Khvedeliani said.
