For Georgia's Khvedeliani: GD’s attempt to use foreign events for self-interest is 'ridiculous'

“It is quite ridiculous how the Georgian Dream party is attempting to use developments taking place in other countries for its own benefit,” said Tata Khvedeliani, a member of the parliamentary team of the Gakharia for Georgia party.

According to Khvedeliani, the government’s efforts to draw parallels with foreign events and argue about “double standards” or “external interference” are misplaced.

“Of course, interference in a country’s internal affairs is unacceptable. However, when our partners and friends voice concerns or take certain steps, these actions are aimed solely at improving the situation in Georgia, supporting the population, and promoting positive processes that would ultimately benefit the country,” she stated.

Khvedeliani added that attempts by the government to manipulate topics related to other states for political gain are futile.
