For Georgia’s Kekenadze: We continue our work on anti-occupation cause, we expected this to irritate GD
“The inclusion of our party on the list of parties facing a ban clearly demonstrates the effectiveness of our work — whether in Parliament, at the regional level, or in the main area of activity that Giorgi Gakharia and the entire party are pursuing, namely our anti-occupation efforts,” Tamar Kekenaidze, a member of Gakharia for Georgia, said.
According to Kekenaidze, Georgian Dream is most irritated by the party’s work on anti-occupation issues.
“We see every day how the processes of annexation are continuing to accelerate, particularly in the Tskhinvali region. We also see Georgian Dream remaining silent, while we are the only party that began speaking about this months ago, a year ago even, warning that this would become a reality and that we all needed to raise our voices.
“Unfortunately, other parts of the opposition are occupied with internal disputes and corrupt deals. Despite all this, we continue our anti-occupation work, both in terms of informing Georgian citizens and engaging with our partners.
Of course, we expected this to be an irritating and obstructive factor for Georgian Dream. Therefore, its decision did not surprise us. I will not speculate about what goes on in Bidzina Ivanishvili’s mind, as he makes every decision not based on the interests of the state and Georgia, but on his own personal financial interests.
We continue our very planned and pragmatic political activities in every part of Georgia, and we intend to do so regardless of what Kobakhidze, Ivanishvili and Georgian Dream do,” Kekenaidze said.
Georgian Dream is seeking the formal ban of Gakharia For Georgia through an expanded constitutional lawsuit. The ruling party has already submitted a constitutional claim requesting that the activities of the United National Movement, Coalition for Change, Strong Georgia – Lelo, and the Federalists be declared unconstitutional and banned.
