FM: We see attempts to politicize education reform, involvement of foreign ambassadors in this process is unacceptable
“We see attempts to politicize the education reform, and the involvement of foreign ambassadors in this process is unacceptable,” said Georgia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Maka Botchorishvili.
Botchorishvili was asked to comment on the Estonian ambassador’s expression of solidarity with Ilia State University.
“It is unclear what kind of support is being discussed. We see that there are attempts to politicize the education reform. The involvement of foreign ambassadors in this process is unacceptable. This is a very important domestic political issue for our country. It concerns national education policy and the development of a strong education system for future generations. Politicizing this process can only harm the reform rather than contribute to its success. Accordingly, it is truly unacceptable when we see attempts by foreign actors to politicize this issue,” Maka Botchorishvili stated.
