FM sums up his visit to Portugal

Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili wrapped up his visit to Portugal.

Within the framework of the visit, the FM held meetings with representatives of Portuguese legislative and executive authorities.

Ilia Darchiashvili discussed Georgia’s EU integration process and spoke about the progress in the fulfilment of EC’s 12-point priorities. He stressed the importance of foreign partners’ support and expressed hope that Portugal would support Georgia’s granting the EU candidate status.

“I believe that the visit was fruitful. On the one hand, we spoke about bilateral cooperation intensification, and on the other hand, how to mobilize Portugal, which will be one of the strongest supporters of Georgia’s EU accession,” he said.
