The security of each Georgian citizen in Israel is of the utmost importance to us. The Embassy activated several hotlines, and we keep communication with our citizens,” said Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili.
According to the FM, the Embassy facilitates communication with air companies for those who want to return to Georgia. He added Georgia had regular flights with Israel and that approximately 3 thousand people had already arrived in Georgia.
“There are groups of children who travelled to Israel for medical treatment. We support them as much as possible so they can be transported to another location or return to Georgia on time. We continue to identify the needs of our citizens on the spot,” Darchiashvili said.
The FM said that the price of air tickets might not be available for a particular flight, but the government tried its best to lift the “barriers” between air companies and passengers.
“We continue to communicate and assist citizens in a desperate situation in specific cases when necessary. We keep protecting our citizens’ interests, and I am sure that all citizens who want to return to Georgia will be able to come back,” he concluded.
