FM meets newly appointed Vietnamese Ambassador to Georgia

Georgia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili held an introductory meeting with Vietnam’s newly appointed Ambassador to Georgia, Nguyen Thanh Le, who is resident in Astana, the Georgian Foreign Ministry said.

According to the ministry, the sides discussed prospects for developing bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Georgia and Vietnam.

The importance of exchanging high-level visits was emphasized, with the planned visit of the Vice President of Vietnam to Georgia also noted in this context.

“Attention was focused on Georgia’s transit potential and opportunities to deepen trade and economic relations between the two countries. The sides also discussed the opening of a Georgian Embassy in Vietnam in the near future, which will provide significant momentum to cooperation between the two countries.

“Georgia’s Foreign Minister wished the Vietnamese ambassador success in his future diplomatic activities,” the Foreign Ministry said.
