FM hopes presenting credentials by Ambassador to German President, arrival of new Ambassador to normalize Georgia-Germany relations
“Germany is an important partner country, and normalization of relations with Germany is significant,” said Georgian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maka Botchorishvili.
The FM believes that presenting letters of credence by the Georgian Ambassador to the German President and the arrival of a new Ambassador will normalize and develop Georgia-Germany relations.
“It is a truly positive moment when our Ambassador will have the opportunity to present letters of credence to the German President and assume official duties. I hope this will allow a positive reset of relations with Germany. Germany is an important partner country and normalization of relations with Germany is significant.
Relations with Germany have recently been characterized by a predominantly negative dynamic due to various reasons, which I will not discuss now. However, I hope that presenting letters of credence by the Georgian Ambassador to the German President and the arrival of a new Ambassador will be an opportunity to bring relations between our countries within a normal framework and to develop them further, serving the needs of both Germany and our country,” she said.
Aleksandre Kartozia was appointed Georgian Ambassador to Germany in September of 2025. He will present his credentials to the German President on July 23.
